Our approach to reducing emissions began in 2012 when we launched our carbon neutral commitment. Environment, logistics and e-commerce are reshaping our industry and the way we are expected to do business. As consumers and buyers, employees, communities and suppliers all look to us for answers, it is our responsibility to act. Consumers are essential drivers of sustainability, challenging and working with us to ensure we focus on what matters most. That's why we made it a priority to listen to them, to find out exactly what interests them and hear what their expectations are for sustainable business. Armed with this information, we are able to better serve our customers.
Our alternative delivery solutions are becoming more widespread worldwide and our fleet of low-emission vehicles is growing every year.
In addition to our initiatives, we also offer our users and customers several sustainable forms of delivery.
Predict
It is about smart notifications about the exact time of delivery of the parcel, which enables a higher success rate of delivery in the first attempt. The recipient of the parcel knows exactly when the parcel will be delivered, but also has the option of changing the delivery of the parcel if it does not suit him.
Pickup points
With the help of the myDPD application, parcel recipients can redirect their parcel to one of the 750+ Pickup points throughout Slovenia and thus ensure delivery in the first attempt.
This results in fewer failed deliveries and a 5% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per package compared to standard home delivery.
Although the habits of e-shoppers are constantly changing, the possibility of choosing sustainable delivery has remained very important for several years.
In our latest E-shopper barometer survey, as many as 60% of participants said that choosing sustainable delivery is important to them, and 59% consider environmentally friendly delivery methods when shopping online.
More than half would choose another website, store or app if it did not offer environmentally friendly delivery.

Approved by the rigorous Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), our offsetting programme focuses on renewables, clean energy and circular economy projects. From wind energy projects in India to the conversion of landfill gas to clean electricity in Brazil, they not only foster sustainability, they improve quality of life for local communities. What’s more, our carbon offsetting is completely voluntary, not tax-exempt and we hold no equity investments in the projects we support.
We have taken a step closer to fulfilling the vision of green delivery and enriched our fleet with the Nissan e-NV200 XL Voltia electric van. The development of the fleet of electric vehicles of this type is another step forward towards the vision of Geopost, including DPD Slovenija, to make parcel delivery more environmentally friendly. New Nissan Voltia in the center of Ljubljana. It will deliver to 80-100 addresses a day within a range of about 100 kilometers. In the next two years, we plan to further expand the fleet of electric vehicles - the goal is to have more than 20 electric vehicles by the end of 2022.
