e-Transport for your business: everything you need to know and how we can help you

As you may already know, Romania has taken a significant step toward digitalizing the transportation sector with the implementation of the e-Transport system. At DPD Romania, we are quickly adapting to these changes and are ready to provide you with the necessary support to manage this new system. To better understand this system, we outline below the conditions under which this regulation applies:

• If the weight of the shipment is under 31.5 kg and the value is under 2,000 euros, obtaining the UIT code is not required;
• If the weight of the shipment is under 31.5 kg but the value is over 2,000 euros, obtaining the UIT code is required;
• If the weight of the shipment is between 31.5 kg and 500 kg, and the value is under 2,000 euros, obtaining the UIT code is not required;
• If the weight of the shipment is over 500 kg and the value exceeds 2,000 euros, obtaining the UIT code is required.

 

How to work with the e-transport system

DPD Romania provides its customers with all the necessary information for obtaining the UIT code, which is essential for entering it into the ANAF website. Here are a few steps you can follow:

• When a need arises for such a shipment, please send us a request via email to [email protected], providing information about your upcoming shipment.
• We will provide you with the license plate number of the vehicle that will collect the goods.
• After obtaining the UIT code, enter it on the transport document, in the Ref 1, Ref 2, or Note field.
• As your goods move through our network, we will periodically inform you of the vehicle registration numbers used. You are required to update this information in the RO e-Transport system.

You are obligated to provide DPD with the UIT code no later than the presentation of the vehicle at the border crossing point or when the vehicle is put into motion, as applicable.

In the event that, for any reason, the UIT code listed on the transport document becomes invalid or needs updating, you are required to inform us.
