DPD STANDARD

Courier service for shipments throughout Romania.

FEATURES:

  • A maximum of 10 packages are accepted in one shipment, with the exception of shipments through DPD lockers, through which a maximum of one package can be sent per destination.
  • For door-to-door deliveries, the maximum weight allowed per package is 31.5 kg, and the maximum length allowed per package is 175 cm.
  • For shipments through DPD lockers, the maximum weight allowed per package is 20 kg, and the maximum dimensions accepted are 60 x 35 x 37 cm (indoor lockers) and 48 x 38 x 35 cm (outdoor lockers).
  • DPD offices cannot receive more than 30 parcels from a single sender in a single day, and the total weight cannot exceed 500 kg.
  • For shipments through DPD Shops, the maximum weight allowed per parcel is 15 kg, and the maximum dimensions accepted are 60 x 40 x 37 cm.
  • For each additional parcel in a shipment (multiple shipment) an additional fee of 2.80 RON per parcel is applied.
  • Redirection / correction of addresses for free in the case of deliveries in the same locality. In the case of redirections from one locality to another, additional costs will be charged.
  • Two free delivery attempts, made on different days.
  • Retention of failed delivery shipments in the DPD network for 7 days.
  • 100% national coverage.

TAX APPLIED FOR LOCATIONS OUTSIDE THE AREA OF DPD ROMANIA COVERAGE:

  •  Currently, the DPD Romania network covers over 10,248 localities without an additional delivery fee.
  • For localities located more than 50 km from the DPD offices, an additional fee of 45 RON/shipment will be applied.

TAXABLE WEIGHT

  • When calculating the taxable weight of the parcel, the greater weight between the gravimetric weight (determined by actual weighing) and the volumetric weight (volumetric weight = length x width x height in cm / 5000 resulting in kg) will be taken into account.
  • Shipments with a physical weight of up to 20 kg are not charged according to the weight of the volume (1 m³=200 kg) unless the latter is greater than 50 kg (for non-contractual clients) or 31.5kg (for contractual clients).
  • Shipments with a physical weight greater than 31.5 Kg will be transported only through the DPD Cargo National service.
  • For parcels with a volumetric weight greater than 32kg, a rate of 2.60 RON/kg is applied for each additional kg over 32kg.
  • For parcels that exceed the volumetric weight of 50 kg, an additional fee of 50 RON/parcel will be applied.

TRANSIT TIME AND PICKUP DEADLINE

  • Transit time is 1-3 working days, except the localities with fixed delivery days, available on the website. In this case, the delivery term will be available on the shipping document of the shipment (AWB).
  • Delivery terms do not include public holidays in the countries of dispatch and/or destination, force majeure and fortuitous events.
  • Shipments can be picked up from DPD offices within 7 calendar days.
  • Shipments can be picked up from DPD lockers within 3 calendar days.
  • Shipments can be picked up from DPD Shops within 3 working days.

VALUE ADDED SERVICES

The service consists of the payment by the recipient to the sender of the value of the good that is the object of the registered shipment through the DPD network.

Recipients have the opportunity to pay the refund amount, both in cash and by card, directly to the courier.

Maximum refund values:

  • 5.000 RON (legal entities recipient)

  • 10.000 RON (independent entities recipient)

Return period for collected refunds: maximum 3 working days from delivery. This service is only offered to contract customers.

The service consists of insuring a registered postal item against loss, theft, total or partial destruction or damage, for an amount that cannot exceed the value declared by the sender.

The maximum allowed limit of the declared value is the equivalent in RON of 5,000 euros/shipment.

If the shipment contains at least one parcel with a volumetric weight greater than 32 kg, the service of extending the limit of liability is not available.

The service consists in the delivery of a shipment and the collection of documents from the recipient for return to the sender.

The service consists of delivering the shipment and receiving in exchange another shipment from the consignee.

Opening the package on delivery – possibility offered to the recipient to view the contents of the package at the time of delivery, in the presence of the courier.

Parcel testing on delivery - possibility offered to the recipient to check and test the contents of the parcel, at the time of delivery, in the presence of the courier, within 10 minutes.

All charges due for courier services (including value added services) will be collected before allowing the recipient to open/test the contents of the shipment.
