Corporate vegetable garden in Porto
In August 2021, DPD implemented a new concept: the Liga-te à terra program by Noocity, which consisted of creating a Corporate Vegetable Garden, at Alfena station, in Porto. This project allows, among many other benefits, to improve human relationships, learn how to grow food, promote well-being in the workplace and urban biodiversity. 2 “culture beds” were installed, offering an autonomous and productive system, with integrated sub-irrigation and vermicomposting. Several vegetables have been cultivated, with the monthly presence of a grower from Noocity, who animates the actions of the elements of the Alfena teams who want to know how this cultivation is done.

In recent years, DPD Portugal has been supporting the “Anjinhos de Natal” project of the Salvation Army. This project consists of collecting Christmas gifts to deliver to needy families who are unable to offer gifts to their children, without them realizing that they came from an institution. DPD has the privilege of being an active part of this act of solidarity, not only through the participation of our employees as godfathers and godmothers, but also through the Pickup network. We are very happy for the opportunity to make a difference in these children's lives, believing that for every delivery, there is a happier Christmas.
