DPD Netherlands has appointed a new CCO and CFO. From 14 March, Martijn Kleij will take up the role of CCO, and Marc Toebes joined DPD as CFO in September 2021. Thiemo van Spellen, the departing CCO, will be Group Global Accounts Managing Director within the DPDgroup.
Martijn Kleij is a familiar face in the logistics sector, in both the Dutch market and the Benelux. He has held various board positions with companies such as Seven Senders and DHL Parcel. At Seven Senders he was appointed as Chief Sales Officer and at DHL Parcel as Vice President Marketing & Retail, where his responsibilities included Marketing, Product Management, Pricing, Customer Experience and Retail. Martijn began his career in the employment agency sector, where for ten years he held a variety of management roles. Alongside his training at the Hotel Management School, he also obtained an MBA in the Netherlands.
Martijn Kleij about his appointment with DPD Netherlands: ‘I’m really looking forward to starting work at DPD Netherlands. What particularly appeals to me is the international aspect and ambition of DPD Nederland. This will enable us to help customers achieve their growth ambitions in the European market. But my focus will also be on raising the profile of DPD in the Dutch market.”
We welcomed Marc Toebes as CFO of DPD Netherlands in September 2021. Marc Toebes has 30 years of experience in financial management roles, such as on the boards of Nutricia and Philips, where he was active as CFO for infant nutrition and personal care, as well as being responsible for various business transformation programmes. Apart from his role as CFO at Philips, Marc is a part-time lecturer for the postgraduate controllers programme at the University of Amsterdam.
Marc Toebes about his appointment with DPD Nederland: ‘I have already been working at DPD for a few months: a dynamic business with plenty of freedom within an international structure and broad growth potential. My focus is on strengthening the Finance team, making structural improvements to and automating the financial core processes, and improving financial insight. The ultimate goal is for Finance to make a positive contribution to the growth of DPD’.
Eric Dietz, CEO DPD Netherlands: ’We are delighted to announce that with the arrival of these two professionals, the management team of DPD Netherlands is now complete. With his strong track record, Martijn Kleij is a valuable successor to Thiemo van Spellen. We thank Thiemo for the past five years in which he has achieved fantastic growth for DPD Netherlands. In his new role, he will make a huge contribution to the further growth of our international activities. I wish Martijn, Marc and Thiemo every success and look forward to working successfully with them!’
