Across the world, communities are demanding cleaner air. We recognized we were in a unique position to help. DPD Portugal partnered with the cities of Lisbon, Paris, and Madrid as a pilot project. Using next-generation lasers, our delivery fleet and our depots monitored PM 2.5 air pollution levels in real-time. The comprehensive data-enabled Lisbon’s authorities to design a unique low emission zone in the heart of the city. Building on the success, DPDgroup plan to expand the initiative in 20 key cities across Europe by 2021. It’s an example of the good that can come from acting locally for the benefit of cities and citizens.

We DPDgroup are in a unique situation because we care not only about nature but also about the quality of our lives. We have the next generation of air quality laser meters at our disposal, which allows us to clearly see the air quality of the city. We want to create a positive impact on cities and their inhabitants, so we have created a unique program in which we can measure air quality in different parts of the city with the help of our delivery, warehouse, and Parcel Lockers. Building on our success, the DPDgroup plans to expand this type of initiative to 20 major cities across Europe by 2021.
