Regardless of where we live, work, or deliver parcels, we are one community. DPD Lietuva and Geopost support local communities in all the countries where they operate. Our support goes beyond corporate initiatives; we also encourage individuals to contribute to organizations in need of assistance.

The "Children's Wishes" Social project

For more than a decade, we've been supporting the "Children's Wishes" initiative, helping fulfil the dreams of children in  Lithuania who live in difficult social conditions. Generous donors can give children what they dream of in one of two ways – by personal delivery or by parcel. DPD Lietuva makes it possible to send the items completely free of charge through DPD parcel lockers. In 2023, we helped fulfil over 7,000 dreams. Our employees also contribute personally to improving these young people’s lives.

We're proud to be part of this project, ensuring that children's dreams are fulfilled quickly and efficiently. We cover the costs of gift delivery so that donors can allocate all their intended funds to the gift itself.

The "Children's Wishes" initiative helps fulfil children's wishes all year round. So there's no need to wait for major holidays to make the dreams of children living in more challenging social conditions come true.

Sports initiative to support individuals with disabilities

One way we bolster team spirit among employees is by organizing and participating in sporting activities. By hosting special runs and cycling marathons, we not only unite for a common goal but also help improve the mobility of people with disabilities.

In 2016 and 2017, the funds raised went to support children with mobility disabilities through the SEB Fulfilment Campaign. In 2018, DPD Latvia and DPD Estonia joined the initiative. In 2019, we collectively covered 32,000 kilometres on foot and by bike during the project, all of which translated into charitable support. In 2020, an impressive 255 employees (51 teams) in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia took part. In 2023, we collectively covered 77,000 kilometres on foot and by bike during the project, resulting in significant support for social needs.

Volunteering

The journey of corporate volunteering isn't just about encouraging people to give back to their communities. It's also about cultivating a resilient and motivated team within the company. DPD Lietuva has long championed employee volunteerism. While some members of our workforce give their time and efforts to individual endeavours, like the Red Cross or animal shelters, the bulk of our team rallies behind the Food Bank initiative.

Dedicated colleagues of ours gather at the Food Bank, offering assistance in cadres up to 10 persons per shift. Together, they meticulously sort incoming food donations and help with various other tasks. Our employees find solace and fulfilment in the opportunity to volunteer, encouraged by the company's provision of a paid day off for this noble pursuit.

It's profoundly rewarding to play a role not only in our company's success but also in supporting non-profit organizations dedicated to aiding those in need. Through volunteerism, we grow not only as individuals but also as a compassionate society. These endeavours serve as a poignant reminder of the paramount importance of humanity and empathy in our lives.

Blood donation

The DPD Lietuva team contributes to a noble cause by participating in blood donation campaigns organized by the National Blood Centre. It's not just about doing a good deed; it's about providing a vital gift to those in need. Blood donation helps individuals recover faster and return to health; in some cases, it's the only thing that can save a person's life.

We have no doubt that this initiative will be a long tradition for us, and that the National Blood Centre's bus will be a frequent visitor in the DPD courtyard.

A million medicine kits for Ukraine

We took part in the important campaign called "A Million Medicine Kits for Ukraine," which encouraged both individuals and businesses to refrain from discarding unused car medicine kits but instead to deliver them to designated collection points across the country. From there the medicine kits were subsequently forwarded to Ukraine.

Other social initiatives

We do not just encourage employees to take part in activities for the good of the community, but also allocate our resources as a company to help support communities. We work with the Food Bank, for example, and when specific needs arise contribute to food product logistics.
