In 2022, the revenue of "DPD Lietuva" grew by 7% to 63 million euros, with future plans for expansion and more sustainable operations. Despite the rapid growth in the delivery sector slowing down during the pandemic, the company continued to invest in infrastructure and expand its network of parcel lockers. In the third quarter of last year, "DPD Lietuva" revenue grew by 26.8% compared to the same period in 2021, and the market share of DPD, according to the Communications Regulatory Authority, increased by 2.2% to 27.4%. This year's plans include even greater expansion and investment in more sustainable operations.
"Compared to 2021, last year the company's revenue grew by almost 7%. Now, the flow has stabilized, but it is still significantly higher than before the pandemic. In addition, the volume of shipments delivered abroad increased by 24% last year," said R. Vilkaitis, General Director of "DPD Lietuva."

Expansion into new cities
Over the past year, the number of parcel lockers managed by the company in Lithuania has increased to 303. Some of them were installed in cities where "DPD Lietuva" did not previously have parcel lockers, such as Nida, Antežeriai, Baltoji Vokė, and Priekulė. More than 40 already built parcel lockers were expanded and renewed, according to R. Vilkaitis.
Last year, the company invested not only in new parcel lockers but also in expanding sorting terminals and renewing their equipment. The Telšiai and Šiauliai terminals were updated during 2022, as was the equipment of the Kaunas small parcel terminal, with a total investment of about 1 million euros.
Reducing CO2 emissions
The company is making great efforts to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and for the second year in a row, it has been delivering parcels in the capital city using electric vehicles.
In October 2021, 60 new electric cars hit the streets of Vilnius, and charging station infrastructure was installed alongside them. "DPD Lithuania" continues to prioritize sustainable parcel delivery. According to the company's data, the expansion of parcel lockers contributed to the reduction of CO2 emissions by about 828 tons last year, which is equivalent to approximately 200 cars with internal combustion engines' annual pollution. "Each parcel locker helps reduce pollution by almost 3 tons per year. Therefore, just last year, the installation of 38 new parcel lockers contributed to pollution reduction and saved more than 55 tons of CO2 emissions," explains R. Vilkaitis.
Expansion and investment in sustainable activities in the future
Expansion and investment in sustainable activities in the future
The company's CEO notes that this year, due to the slowdown in the economy, the company does not expect significant growth in parcel delivery. However, it still intends to expand its parcel locker network and invest in other infrastructure projects.
"We will focus particularly on environmentally friendly solutions - we will invest in sustainable parcel delivery, and in the second half of the year, we plan to add another 40 electric vehicles to our fleet," says R. Vilkaitis.
In addition, in 2023, the company has planned other sustainable innovations. One of them is the "Breath" project: special equipment is already installed on the company's electric vehicles used for parcel delivery to measure air pollution in different parts of the city, and the collected data will be used to create pollution maps.
