We are always on the move – from delivering goods and innovation, to ideas for the future. Most importantly, we move forward by working as one global team. Although we have different skills and come from all corners of the industry, we are united by our shared vision : a better way of doing business – one that delivers progress for the planet, people and communities.
More than a trend, sustainability is both a way to respond to our clients' expectations and to develop our business in order to be part of real and lasting change. Today, we are already taking bold action to engage in this future by:
By 2030, Geopost aims to become the international reference in sustainable delivery and a leading enabler of the commerce acceleration. As the first global parcel delivery company to have our near- and long-term CO2 emissions in our value chain by 90% and achieve our goal of net zero by 2040. Yet, there is still a big journey ahead. By working together, our network of local experts will create the transformation that is needed. We will embrace the determination, inventiveness and collaborativeness that is already in our DNA. Our sustainability targets will inspire us. And our bold ambition will drive us forwards. Together for a better tomorrow.
Looking ahead, we will continue to lead by example in driving change for a better business and further embed sustainability into our core business practices in a way that creates value for our customers, employees, suppliers, communities and shareholders.

DPD Hungary Kft. is also contributing to the goal to make Geopost an international reference for sustainable delivery and a leading enabler of the acceleration of e-commerce by 2030.
The implementation of the science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets applies to the 20 largest business units in Europe, including Hungary. A key element of our strategy is to reduce emissions from our core fleet of vehicles, which means reducing the use of internal combustion engines, mainly through the use of electric vehicles.
With these commitments we are ahead of our competitors and offer a service in the courier sector that no other operator in Hungary or internationally can offer to its customers. Until 2021, our fleet consisted exclusively of diesel cars, when electric vehicles in the 3.5 tonne category became available, which we could already integrate effectively into our daily operations (range and charging options). 2021 was the first year in which we set aside resources in our budget for sustainability targets.
Electric vehicles
The number of electric cars in our fleet has increased to almost 30% in recent years. Kecskemét, Pécs, Dombóvár, Komárom, Győr, Szolnok, Miskolc, Szeged, Debrecen - in these cities, delivery is made exclusively by electric cars.
Chargers
By the end of 2023, 148 AC chargers and 2 DC chargers were in use to serve our electric fleet, in 8 locations. In 2024 we will continue to install chargers to serve the growing number of electric cars.
Solar panels
We have increased the proportion of our energy generation from solar panels, both at our rented depots and at our parcel sorting facility in Budapest.
GHG emissions
In the first quarter of 2024, we recorded a 21% increase in the number of parcels compared to 2023, but our GHG emissions did not increase during this period. This shows that our emissions per parcel have decreased significantly as a result of our measures and investments.
