On the day of collection and the day of delivery, DPD sends SMS notifications to the recipient at the phone number given (designated) by the sender. The text notification contains the consignment number, the amount of COD if any, and the expected time of delivery. A recipient for whom the day of delivery is not convenient may change it to another day, quoting the security code in the notification. Delivery may be postponed up to a maximum of five banking days. On the day of delivery, we send another text notification to the recipient in the early morning giving the expected time of delivery (a one-hour window) so that the recipient knows to within one hour when the DPD courier will arrive. This notification is for information only and does not make the service time-guaranteed, traffic and other sources of delay being natural concomitants of the service. The one-hour window cannot be altered by the recipient.
