March 14th 2019 – General Manager of DPD Croatia, Igor Jakovljević and COO Europe for DPDgroup, Yves Delmas, officially opened a new DPD distribution center in Sesvete by cutting the ribbon in a front of numerous guests.
After 15 years of DPD in Croatia, the company started new 2019 by moving its headquarters to the new location in Sesvete, were the new distribution center was built according to the high DPDgroup standards.
The need for a new warehouse-manipulative space appeared primarily as a result of the continued increase in the volume of parcels and the rapid growth of the e-commerce sector. In 2018 alone, the company recorded a volume increase of 35% and revenue growth of 40%. Additionally, an increase of 110% in export has placed DPD at first place in export on the domestic market.
The new compound encompasses 14,000 m2. The biggest specialty of the new center is the fact that it is among the first cross-dock warehouses in the region, in which currently available sorting technology is used. DPD will be able to sort over more than 25,000 parcels per day.
This event gathered numerous DPD clients, who include some of the biggest e-traders on the domestic and international market, as well as high-level political dignitaries, such as French ambassadors in Croatia. General Manager Igor Jakovljević addressed all in attendance: “Our results speak for themselves. First of all, they are a consequence of our smart planning and company leading. They are also a consequence of our effort and commitment and successful cooperation with our clients. On top of increased capacity, it also will ensure the highest quality of service what our clients expect from DPD.”
Besides providing high-quality service on distribution market, DPD Croatia invests into the CSR corporative programme, known as DrivingChange, for which the company management received an award „Sjaj“ from the Croatian Employers' Association last year.
For this formal occasion, General Manager Jakoljević handed the donation of 15,000 HRK to a local NGO „Dobra volja“ to contribute once more to our local community and help all those in need using the NGO‘s services.
