DPD France has been committed to reducing its environmental impact for over ten years. Our ambition has evolved from a policy of carbon neutrality since 2012 to a goal of zero net emissions by 2040. This decarbonisation target is aligned with the French National Low Carbon Strategy (SNBC) and validated by the scientific experts of the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi) on the 1.5° scenario of the Paris Agreement. It covers all the scopes of our carbon footprint (1, 2 and 3) and therefore includes all our partners in our value chain.
18 %
of the parcels we transport are delivered in low-emission vehicles
12 %
of the kilometres travelled by our HGVs are powered by natural gas or biofuel
10 %
we have reduced our CO2e emissions per parcel by 10% vs. 2022
4 million +
of French people delivered to city centres by cargo bike
95 % +
of our electricity comes from renewable sources
In the short term
Reduce our CO2e emissions per parcel by 30% by 2025 (compared with 2012).
This target was achieved in 2023 by reducing our operational emissions per parcel by 36%.
In the medium term
Reduce our CO2e emissions by 50% in absolute terms by 2030 (compared with 2020). Despite the increase in our volume of activity, we have managed to reduce our level of greenhouse gas emissions to the 2020 level by 2023.
In the long-term
Achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040.
