Volumetric weight calculation rule

According to air transport rules, the weight of a shipment is calculated based on the space occupied on the aircraft rather than its actual weight. Airlines have limitations in weight, but also in volume.

DPD France applies a weight/volume tax. The cost of the shipment is then calculated on the basis of the volumetric weight of the parcel.

The volumetric weight is compared to the actual weight of the shipment.
For invoicing purposes, the higher of the volumetric weight and the actual weight of the parcel will be used.
