DPD installed five new parcel lockers in small Estonian towns
As part of the expansion of the nationwide parcel lockers’ network, in the first months of the year DPD Estonia installed five new parcel lockers in small towns across Estonia: in Valgamaa, Järvamaa, Pärnumaa, Saaremaa and Hiiumaa counties.
"When choosing the locations of the new parcel lockers, we want to be as close as possible to the customers, even in smaller settlements all over Estonia, where there has never been a parcel locker before," explained Remo Kirss, CEO of DPD Estonia.
"In recent years, e-commerce has made a big growth spurt, and last year the volume of goods ordered in parcel lockers increased by more than 30%," Kirss added. "At DPD, the volume of parcel shipments increased by more than a million parcels last year, and the number of orders home-delivered by courier increased by more than half."
To meet the growing demand, DPD installed 72 new parcel lockers all over Estonia last year and expanded 40 existing parcel lockers. "We strive to ensure that the parcel delivery service works quickly and smoothly, and we will continue to focus on making DPD parcel lockers the first choice with a convenient location for our customers," Kirss confirmed.
The small town of Puka got its first DPD parcel machine, and a total of five DPD parcel machines now operate in Valga County. Puka's new DPD parcel machine is located near the Coop store.
Türi's new DPD parcel machine is located at Türi Rimi store. There are already six DPD parcel machines in Järva County, in addition to Türi also in Imavere, Koeru and Paide.
Häädemeeste's first DPD parcel machine is now located at the Konsum store at Pärnu mnt 40. In Pärnu County, there are now a total of 16 DPD parcel machines, in addition to Häädemeeste in Lihula, Paikuse, Kilingi-Nõmme, Pärnu-Jaagupi, Sindi, Sauga, Tõstamaa, Virtsu, Vändra and Pärnu.
The first DPD parcel machine in Kihelkonna is located at the Coop store. There is now a total of 8 DPD parcel machines in Saaremaa, in addition to Kihelkonna, there are also Kuressaare, Leisi, Orissaare, Salme and Muhu.
The first DPD parcel machine in the town was also installed next to the Emmaste town hall. There is now a total of three DPD parcel machines in Hiiumaa, in addition to Emmaste in Kärdla and Käina.
