Flood disaster in Germany

Severe floods in parts of Germany have devastated entire regions, claimed numerous victims and taken away people's homes. Our thoughts are with the bereaved, the victims and the rescue services. For our delivery staff and all our employees the rule is: safety first. For this reason we are experiencing delays and interruptions in the delivery and collection of parcels in the affected regions. We are also expecting delays in the coming days. We are working flat out to ensure that all parcels are delivered as quickly as possible, as far as the situation on the ground allows.

North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate are particularly hard hit. There are problems especially in the areas of responsibility of Depot 158 Hagen, Depot 154 Föhren (near Trier), Depot 156 Koblenz, Depot 142 Wuppertal and Depot 150 Erftstadt.

We would like to thank all those who are helping to cope with this disaster - including our staff who are currently supporting the operations of the volunteer fire brigades in the flood regions!

Update 16 July: our parcel sorting centre in Erftstadt (Depot 150) is currently not accessible due to the particularly difficult local conditions. Although the site itself is not directly threatened by the flood, the transport routes to the depot are currently unusable. On Friday, 16 July, it will therefore not be possible to deliver parcels in the distribution area of the depot. This also affects the city of Cologne. Any resulting backlogs will be cleared without delay, as soon as the situation permits. Collections from customers in the region must also be partially cancelled today. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
