Aschaffenburg, November 21th, 2024 – The Christmas season is just around the corner and so begins the countdown to the final gift preparations! If you want to send your parcels safely and stress-free for as little as 3.29 euros, you should take the following packing tips to heart:
-
sturdy cardboard: use sturdy, undamaged cardboard boxes that can easily bear the weight of the contents. Reused cardboard boxes are particularly environmentally friendly. However, old barcodes should be removed or made unrecognisable.
-
no external decoration: Do not use wrapping paper or bows on the outside. These can get caught in the automatic sorting systems and damage the parcel. Decorate the inside of the parcel instead.
-
sufficient padding: fill the empty spaces generously so that the contents cannot slip. Fragile items such as glass should not touch the box directly - bubble wrap or paper padding are ideal for protection.
-
attach the parcel label correctly: The parcel label should be placed on the largest surface of the parcel. If the address is handwritten, it must be written in block letters, in one colour and clearly legible.
-
use clear names: Even if the parcel is going to your loved ones, do not enter any nicknames or pseudonyms on the parcel label, as these are often not on the ID card. In this case, the employees in the Pickup parcelshops and the delivery staff are not authorised to hand over the parcel to the recipient. The parcels should therefore be addressed to the clear name entered on the ID card.
