Warning strike at DPD in NRW

Warning strikes by the trade union ver.di at DPD locations in North Rhine-Westphalia are currently causing significant restrictions in parcel delivery and collection. Our parcel centres in Erftstadt and Wilnsdorf (warning strikes on Wednesday, 22 September) and in Vlotho (Thursday, 23 September) were affected by strikes. From the Vlotho parcel centre many parcels can't be delivered as planned today. The affected area includes the cities of Bielefeld, Minden, Herford, Detmold, Aerzen and Bad Meinberg.

Parcel delivery was also limited at the Wilnsdorf location. In addition to the towns of Siegen and Wetzlar, the Oberbergische Kreis, the southern Sauerland, the Siegen-Wittgenstein district and the Lahn-Dill district were mainly affected. In the area of responsibility of our parcel centre in Erftstadt, which also includes the city of Cologne, it was mainly the collection from customers and parcel shops that was affected. As a result, there may be further delays in delivery times. Parcel delivery is taking place largely without disruption.

The entire staff at all locations are working again to clear the backlogs as quickly as possible. The transport and logistics sector in North Rhine-Westphalia is currently negotiating a new collective agreement with the ver.di trade union. As a result, DPD is not the only company affected by warning strikes, which have also affected numerous branches of other companies throughout North Rhine-Westphalia.
