An interview with our Patricia
1. How long have you been working at DPD?
I joined the DPD family in July 2018. I started out as a Pickup Coordinator and I’ve been the team leader of Customer Relation & Pickup for one year now.
2. What is your job and what do you particularly like about it?
As a Customer Relation & Pickup team leader, I conduct staff appraisals, keep track of open customer enquiries and prepare monthly customer reports. When an extra pair of hands are needed😉, I also help out with operational tasks in day-to-day business. I like the varied work and the new challenge that comes with being a team leader.
3. What challenges do you face in your area of responsibility and how do you deal with them?
My greatest challenge is also my best one.
Since I became a mother to a boy in August 2022, I have only been working part-time. This means scheduling a lot of tasks in 2.5 days and, at the same time, doing justice to the team as team leader. However, I really enjoy my time off from work with my son and am happy to take it.
4. Is there a situation at work that you remember fondly?
I remember the early days when we rebuilt the Pickup parcelshop department in Switzerland. We had provided all DPD shops with a basic contract and expanded the partner relationship so that the partners could identify more closely with DPD.
5. What do you like to do the most in your free time?
In my free time, I like to spend time with my family or read a book.
Before the pandemic, my husband and I also loved travelling the world, which we will certainly do again when our son is a little older.
6. Is there anything you would like to experience again?
I would love to experience all the travel again. The six weeks in Africa in particular were a major highlight. We spent two weeks driving a camper through Namibia and then took a rental car through South Africa for four weeks.
7. How would your best friend describe you?
I am very helpful and always ready to have fun.
8. Do you believe in karma?
In my opinion, everything happens for a reason and has an impact on the future. I try to do at least one good deed every day. For example, when driving, I let someone out into the road even if they don’t have the right of way, or I let someone go ahead of me at the checkout.
