Today, it’s time again: International Women’s Day – a day full of recognition, pride and inspiration! A day to celebrate the women who, with their talent, determination and tireless commitment, enrich our society and businesses. At DPD Switzerland, however, equality is much more than just a nice concept on paper – it is a lived reality, day in and day out.
That’s why, today, we’re shining the spotlight on three outstanding women whose passion and strength shape not only their teams, but also our entire company: Patrizia, Ilka and Sandra. Their stories are proof that courage, competence and assertiveness are not a question of gender – but of the will to make a difference.
The world has changed – and we have changed with it
Let’s take a look back: in 2012, it was still normal in many companies for management positions to be filled primarily by men. Women often had to work harder for their place, prove themselves and fight twice as loudly for recognition. By contrast, a lot has changed between then and today, 2025. Equality is no longer an ideal, but a lived reality.
Salary structure analyses show that fairness is winning through. Networks for women in business are growing; mentoring programmes are strengthening careers; and companies like DPD are creating an environment in which talented people – regardless of gender – can flourish. But that doesn’t mean we’ve reached our goal.
The world remains in motion, and it is women like Patrizia, Ilka and Sandra who are helping to shape change with their dedication.
Ilka: achieving success through passion and strategy
Ilka started her career at DPD more than a decade ago in Customer Service, moved to Sales, and eventually ended up in Operations Support. Today, as a team leader, she ensures that our processes are not only efficient, but also customer-friendly. Ilka believes that quality can be felt not only in numbers, but above all in relationships – and that is precisely what characterises her in her role. Your secret to success?
A mixture of calmness, assertiveness and a great deal of warmth.

Sandra: numbers, strategy and lots of power
Sandra is the best example of how finances can be anything but dry. As Finance and Admin Director at DPD, she not only keeps an eye on the figures, but also plays an active role in shaping the future of the company.
She started as Head of Controlling and later took over as Head of Finance and Administration.
What drives her? The opportunity to make a real difference, to bring teams together, and to create an environment where everyone can reach their full potential.

Patrizia: experience meets new challenges
Patrizia knows the logistics industry like the back of her hand. She worked for Swiss Post for 39 years before moving to DPD as a depot manager.
Your experience? Priceless.
Your attitude? Unwavering.
She demonstrates every day that leadership skills have nothing to do with gender, but with expertise, empathy and courage.
When you talk to Patrizia, you immediately notice that she stands for reliability and honesty – and for the fact that women are no longer the exception in the industry.

Cheers to all women – today and every day
The stories of Patrizia, Ilka and Sandra are just three of many. They show that women are no longer marginal figures in the world of work – they shape, guide and inspire.
And the best part? Every woman who courageously goes her own way is paving the way for an even better future for the next generations.
Let’s not just celebrate today, but continue to work to ensure that talent, ambition and passion are the only things that determine success.
Happy Worlds Womens Day! 🎉
