We hire to retire

Don’t worry, we won’t chain you to the sorting system or an office desk.
But we want you to know that we are ready to go on a long journey with you and support you in your professional development — if this journey leads you out of DPD, that's okay — and if it turns out that our paths cross once more in the course of your career, it would be great if you considered us again. Perhaps that might be in one of our other locations around the world - our network is huge!

We are very likely to get in contact before we appoint you, so here is a brief introduction:

Patrik, HR Manager

It is my privilege to lead the HR team and I support the members of the Executive Board, as well as the Regional Operations Managers of the depots in all HR-related matters.

For my part, this means that I write job advertisements, conduct interviews, act as a ‘sparring partner’ in the leadership team and offer my two cents’ worth on anything to do with HR. I also shape the strategic direction of our department and work with the HR team on projects that make it easier for people to work together and, as the saying goes, improve the ‘employee experience’.

I am open to feedback and to your opinions and concerns, especially when new talents can potentially help us move forward.

20 francs left! Where are you going for lunch?

Here, there and everywhere. I need variety but I prefer a relatively quiet lunch, to put the thoughts of the working day into some sort of order. I like the Felfel vending machine in Starbucks, but I also go home to my family, who live nearby.

This app has changed my life:

Professionally: DPD Connect (Beekeeper). This modern corporate communication tool opens new doors and is fun, too.

Privately: Spotify - the wealth of songs and styles from all eras is indescribable. I would never have thought that I might want to get rid of my CD collection (about 350 of them): please contact me if you’re interested.

What still needs inventing:

A digitised (and legally recognised) signature for HR documents. That would save a lot of paper. And of course a hoverboard – which I would fly to work on. Perhaps you will accuse me of ‘greenwashing’, but at least the former would mean real progress for the environment.

If you had a superpower, what would it be/who would you be?

Mind reading, I would enjoy that in interviews, which would make me: Captain Interview?!

Shopping: online or at the shops?

Even when I was a child, it used to drive me crazy when I had to go with my mother to the shopping centre. So I was an online-shopping enthusiast from the word ‘go’. Except for food, because appetite plays a role there, and I like to be on the spot to get inspiration for recipes.

Martin, HR Consultant

In my role, I am responsible for recruiting new talent, looking after employees and managers, and for HR projects. My HR friends and I cover all activities from A for attendance sheets to Z for zeroing in on skill development.

Before joining DPD, I worked as a head-hunter for specialists and executives. In my free time I like relaxing with good food, fishing, concerts and enjoying the finer things in life.

Favourite gadget?

My iPhone (currently still an old 6S). What matters is that I am connected with the world and yes, I admit: I am a bit addicted.

Barnabas in Regensdorf – the best kebabs in the region. The kebab in Turkish bread with feta cheese and egg comes highly recommended. Of course, for CHF 20, you would also get a drink.

How do you get to work in the morning - bicycle, train or car?

It’s a question of comfort and location. Fortunately, for my current commute, both train and car are possible. However, I usally travel by car, as that means I can respond better to the surprises my job throws at me

This app has changed my life:

The first thing that comes to mind is certainly ‘WhatsApp’. I mean, who still texts these days? Everyone I communicate with has shifted completely to this app.
