For the second year in succession, we have carried out the DPD Summer Champion competition during the summer months. In this way, we wish to ensure the delivery quality in the depots during the summer months, and to thank our drivers with a bonus. For this purpose, we have allocated prizes to a value of CHF 100,000.
Background
The summer season is also the holiday season. While many of our employees go on holiday, our drivers take care of the continued and unfailing delivery of parcels. For this reason, we decided to introduce the DPD Summer Champion Challenge for the heroes who are responsible for a good delivery quality in the months of July and August.
Participation and criteria
During the competition period, all our depots and drivers automatically take part in the challenge. The best depots win and the best drivers per depot win.
It is our goal to achieve a win–win situation where we link our Summer Champions’ parcel deliveries with key figures. On the one hand, we can make a clear and fair assessment and at the same time raise awareness of the important key figures. On the other hand, our recipients and customers benefit directly.
The focus of these key figures is on regular aspects, such as keeping to time frames, correct delivery after our service , and recommendation of customers and recipients.
Success
This competition proved successful in 2020 and we wanted, this year too, to find and select the new DPD Summer Champions of 2021. As we have already carried out the evaluations for this year, we can proudly announce: it was a great success this year, too, and we have handed over the bonuses to our depots and drivers.

Conclusion
In order to build on this success, we will examine whether to carry out this competition again in the year 2022. We are very proud of the incredible results and look forward to the forthcoming peak season.
