Steady reductions in CO2 emissions and energy consumption at our depots are a matter of course in order to ensure that our environment is treated responsibly. „If the bees are doing well - so are the people“ - this is the motto under which DPD supports the honey bee with bee sponsorships throughout Austria. The furry honey suppliers make a major contribution to an intact ecosystem because they pollinate plants and thus ensure the growth of flowers and fruits, which we in turn feed on. But the honey bees are endangered. Reasons for this are pesticides and the loss of habitats due to more intensive agriculture. In the federal provinces of Vienna, Lower Austria, Styria, Tyrol and Vorarlberg, new colonies were founded with our contribution, which are looked after and cared for by dedicated beekeepers throughout the bee year until the sweet results of the work can finally be harvested in autumn. In cooperation with the regional beekeepers, DPD not only makes a noticeable contribution to the preservation of the bees, we also promote biodiversity and thus set a valuable example for our environment.

Since 1994 the "Mirno More" fleet of ships stands for tolerance, integration and peaceful coexistence and is the largest sailing project for socially disadvantaged children and young people from all over the world. Here you get the chance to take a week off from the daily challenges of everyday life. The goals of the project are social inclusion, peace, tolerance for each other and international understanding. For several years now, we have been on board as a sponsor for one of the ships of the fleet that sails under the DPD flag.
DPD is delighted to be able to take part in this great campaign under the motto "Sailing with the aim of overcoming exclusion and throwing prejudices overboard".
Together with SOS Kinderdorf, DPD has established a special cooperation that is committed to supporting young people. Under the resounding name “Education ABC”, every single child will be supported and encouraged, according to their abilities with the SOS education and support program. The financial support from DPD provides school and learning materials for a year, pays for excursions, ski courses and language trips, as well as sports and leisure programs. In addition, basic equipment for digital learning, such as laptops and support therapy offer round off the educational package.
